  1. Just finished book 1. Loved it. Nicely written, properly spelt, surprising story and denouement. I want to be Aydan when I grow up.

Ms. Henders is a wonderful author that offers her blog to people that enjoy reading and writers that are learning their craft. It’s a pity you don’t fit into either category.

      • Thanks Diane. I had one of “those” days, so venting on a creep gave me satisfaction, even though I knew it wouldn’t be read by said creep. It must be a constant battle, like being an exterminator!

Keep up the good work, I love reading your writing.

  6. I purchased Book 13 (along with previous purchases of 1-12) and immediately started reading it. Once I finished I decided to start over with Book 1 and am currently on Book 4. It is amazing how much of the “little things” I had forgotten over time and re-reading them is almost like starting a new series. I am enjoying them as much as I did the first time and little bits and pieces are filling back in. Keep us up with Aydan’s adventures, exploits, etc. I am really enjoying them again.

  8. Just finished How Spy I Am. I love your concept, originality, and attention to detail. Your characters are great, I love and/or hate them; but they always keep me on my mental toes. I have all the books in the series so far, but after completing a book I need a few weeks break to mull over all the stuff that happens. Not since J.D. Robb have I enjoyed characters so much! I hope the series continues for a long time.

    • Thank you, Barbara – I’m thrilled and flattered to be compared to J.D. Robb! 🙂 It’s so nice to hear that you’re pondering the plot lines and enjoying the characters. I have lots of fun writing them, although it’s more fun writing the good guys… and the guys who are a little bit bad (in a good way)!

I appreciate you taking the time to come by and comment – thanks again for your kind words, and I hope you enjoy the rest of the series!

  11. Just finished binge reading all 12 books and am longing for #13 and #14 and so on. You can be proud of your writing; it is compelling, complex, funny, and romantic all blended together. The synergy is awesome. Individually each character is bright, strong, funny, daring, and caring; together they are unbeatable. I love all the characters, but Aydan is a terrific role model in our modern world. I like the relationship that Moonbeam, Karma, and Skidmark have and hope that Aydan, Hellhound, and John are able to have something similar. Thank you for sharing these people with us!

  16. It’s refreshing to see a female protagonist that has retained her humanity, she is both soft, sexy and ribald and yet carries her heart on her sleeve. She has many kinds of love, and lust in her emotional baggage. if more women we’re open and honest they would see some of themselves in the varied shades of her female images. I am a professional, and my job often entails hiding my emotions, being strong for others. It is refreshing to read, relax and giggle at the mischief she gets herself into. Diane… keep them coming…. I enjoy being able to get a good full length story, watch the characters grow and change. The value is great… and the enjoyment immeasurable. Thank you

  18. I’ve been taking advantage of free books on Kobo and Bookbub and came across your first one. Normally the free books are teasers to get you interested, and most of the time I can resist temptation. But yours had me hooked right from the start. I’ve been binge reading them and have been late for work, absent from my husband, and generally completely immersed. I’ve had to go into allowance debt to pay for my habit. So much so that after reading all 11 books in a week I started over the next day and read them again within another week, savouring my favourite parts (pretty much anything with Arnie). I usually buy a series for my mother and this one will be my next gift.

Thank you so much for a wonderful vacation from real life.

Thank you so much for buying the series for your mother, too! I really appreciate your kind words and support, and I always love to hear from Team Arnie! He’s one of my favourite characters to write.

  19. Just finished book#12 and now waiting for #13. What I like about your books is the fact that they’re easy to read, exciting, and occasionally have a twist. I don’t have to “think” or second guess what the author (you) are trying to convey to the reader. Very entertaining book. I’m not a fan of love stories but the romance is inserted (don’t second guess the word “inserted”) in a way that makes your story flow. Keep writing these spy novels and thanks.

  21. 5 Stars, Definately. Can’t wait to get another. I just finished Book 1 and loved it. Unfortunately I have very little criticism (I know how important that is – I’m trying to write myself, but am better at short stories.) I loved the action and plot twists; though a couple were a bit obvious (normal for a first book, I think, at least for me). The characters are great, I love Ayden’s sexiness (more please and maybe earlier in the book, though I don’t know where given the nature of the plot – this is from a dirty old man of 66 who thinks he’s younger) and construction abilities – I’d love to see Webb’s character developed a bit more, computer nerds are people too, kidding. Hellhound’s first description is a bit at odds with his later actions, maybe clean him up for his second apperance in the book – though you likely did in later books.
That’s about it for now. Thanks for a great diversion and inspiration.

Short stories are a great way to develop your writing skills, and kudos to you for undertaking them! 23. Never Say Spy. My first time reading your work. It was excellent. I’m sure it could be better, but then almost everything and everyone can get better. Frankly, with Kane coming to the rescue one more time I got to thinking there was going to be a twist; he was going to be part of the evil, not the hero you made him out to be. Well, glad you didn’t go that route but the fact that you kept me engrossed to the end…good writing. I’ll read more.

  24. Just finished Kiss and Say Good Spy (for the second time!) and loved it as I have all your books. The way your characters are growing and changing makes the series always so interesting and enjoyable. Seeing Ayden working to become more confident in her new role adds a new dimension to the story. Humanizing Stemp , allowing that little glimpse of a complex personality behind his outward stoic exterior, makes him much more real … and likable. And the evolution of the Arnie/John/Ayden triangle seems to be unfolding to its logical and (hopefully) proper conclusion. You’ve given me hope, Diane! Can’t wait to see how their world unfolds in Book 13.
Thanks for such an entertaining, enjoyable series.

Follow ups. The character development has been so good- in my mind I can only see one ending .(but not to be a ” spoiler” I won’t elaborate)…I will say two things stand out in #12 that bring me to this conclusion. Ultimately DH is our author so it’s in her hands- regardless of the future offerings “Thanks DH for a great read!!!!”

So it looks like my reading addiction was good for business after all! Thanks!!!!

The plot of the first one was intriguing, and leaves one wondering if Aydan Kelly is, or is not, a “spy”. I’m guessing she is, because from the start I thought she was, but suffering from some sort of amnesia (alla J. B.), but that line disolved as the story continued. Perhaps in book two the truth will be revealed?
