I was a late bloomer, so to speak. A 37-year old college freshman back in the day. So I was hanging out in the library studying my brains out with the other students who were 20 or so. I discovered that the three basic food groups for college students at that time were beer, baloney, and Funyuns. I know. Ewwww. ๐
I had to go and look up Funyuns – I’d never heard of them (which is probably a good thing – I love onion-flavoured snacks). I’m partial to the occasional slice of baloney, and beer… well… duh. I don’t think I’d mix the three, though, and in any case it wouldn’t be a balanced diet. No sugar, you see. ๐
Dang, you’re right. And tea, too. I guess you could slot them into one of the four food groups by adding sugar or cream or booze, but I drink mine black/clear. I’ll have to put more thought into my food groups.
Holey Cows! This just reminded me of the lyrics to the Jim Stafford song, What Mamma Don’t Know! Gad, that’s hysterical! I guess here’s when I find out if you really can clean a keyboard by running it through the rinse cycle in the dishwasher! ๐
Oh, hilarious! I just popped over to YouTube and looked it up. Laughed my head off and then poked around for more Jim Stafford goodies. I’d forgotten all about “Spiders and Snakes” until now…
Funny until you have that triple by-pass. I try to eat healthy but the thing calls for 5 servings of vegetables a day. How do most of us do this ? Put string beans on our corn flakes ?
LOL – gotta sneak those veggies in somewhere! Actually, I almost always eat a healthy diet, but this week has been so full of parties I feel as though I’ve had nothing but sugar, salt, fat, and booze. It’s fun for a few days, but then I start to crave my whole grains and fruit and vegetables. ๐
Hahaha! It was funny to see this now because I JUST put up a picture on FB of the treat I made my husband for our anniversary. Oh, boy, at least we work out, right?!
Yep, I’m just recovering from a big wedding shower/birthday celebration at a friend’s yesterday. This seemed appropriate somehow… but it’s off to the gym for me this afternoon!

Yum! Not to mention it incorporates ice cream, which is one of my all-time favourite foods!

Isn’t nutrition wonderful? And just think, when the kids move out and you don’t have to set a good example anymore, all this can be yours… ๐

It’s bad weather here today, so we are going for comfort-food lunch: Burgers and alcohol. I guess I like your diet ๐
