The Wisdom of Trees

We’ve had a difficult and emotionally draining week relocating Hubby’s elderly mom, who has early dementia.ย  My sense of humour suffered a slight sprain in the process, so I didn’t feel up to spewing my usual nonsense this week.

I created this video instead – I hope you enjoy it.

  1. Lost some dear ones myself to that hateful stuff. My mom and my brother-in-law who was the best friend anyone could ask for. ‘Way too early.

  3. So sorry to hear about your mum in law’s dementia. We lost our believed sister in law to dementia this past Saturday. A long and difficult journey. We understand.

    • Thank you, Nelson. I’m so sorry about your sister-in-law. Hubby’s dad also had dementia, and the long slow loss is a terrible thing for everyone. I hope you’ll be able to find comfort from your memories of her in happier times.

  4. Diane I am sorry to hear about your Mom in law. These are indeed emotionally draining times. I hope she settles well and your hearts do too. A beautiful video which lifted my spirits. Beautifully done.

Very beautiful and peaceful. Reminds me why I chose to live out in the country rather than the city/town areas. It is truly sad and heart-hurting to have to watch a loved one to slip back into themselves and loose memories of their loved ones. Just know that you and your family are in the thoughts and prayers of your reader families.

Iโ€™m very sorry about your mother-in-law. Dimentia is a cruel thing to have to go through, and to watch happen. And yet you showed up to make sure we had our weekly fix anyway. I enjoy your books and your posts for the sense of humor, but this one is really beautiful. I loved it. Thank you. And for your family I hope thereโ€™s lots of joy and comfort in the days and years ahead.

That’s beautiful and fitting, Diane. I’m sorry about your mother-in-law. We are heading that way with my mom. I’ll think of your trees as we go. Take care.

    • Thanks, jenny_o. I know what a struggle you’ve been having with your mom. Things haven’t turned out the way we’d hoped with Hubby’s mom and now it looks as though we won’t end up being the primary caregivers after all; but I certainly feel for your situation. You take care, too.
