Thanks for visiting!

I’d love it if you’d say hi here in my “guest book” – just scroll to the comment box at the bottom.  Better still, tell me who your favourite character is, or a fun fact about yourself.  Welcome!

Like any good host, I want to make sure all my guests are enjoying themselves. I wouldn’t intentionally put vegetarians and carnivores in the same room at a party, so I hope you’ll understand why I want to keep fans and critics on separate pages. If your criticism ends up on the wrong page, I’ll transfer it to the correct one.  Thanks for your understanding!

  1. Hi, I’m from Edmonton Alberta and I just discovered your books! I’m already on book 12 and I love when you talk about driving in Calgary on Crowchild Trail or to Drumheller, Rocky Mountain House, Edmonton, I’ve been there and for me it adds to the story. I love Aydan and totally adore Arnie. Thanks for great stories!

    • Hi Dawn — How cool to hear from an “almost-neighbour”! I had fun setting the books in Calgary and area. In fact, one of my readers wrote to say that now every time he drives under the bridge at Heritage and Glenmore at night, he checks to make sure there’s no dark blue van picking up a tarp-wrapped body. 😉

And I love writing Arnie — he’s such a complex character. (Plus, I’m usually giggling while I write his lines.)

Thanks for visiting and commenting — you made my day! 🙂

  2. So..I got book 1 free a few years ago from BookBub when I first got my kindle. While browsing my unread books, I decided to read the books I got for free. Most. were meh, but I loved “Never Say Spy”. Still, I was hesitant because I didn’t want to buy too many if my attention wavered.

    17 books later…I’m anxiously awaiting book 18!

I love John Kane…his journey of self-discovery is admirable. And I imagine he is very gorgeous (yum!).

I have never been on an authors fan site but I’m thrilled I fell into this series! Come on 18!

    • Hi Martha —

I’m thrilled that you chose me for your first visit to an author’s site! What a lovely compliment — I’m smiling *big* right now. 🙂 And it’s great to hear that Never Say Spy and the rest of the series kept your attention.

I’m having fun (and learning a lot) while writing John’s journey. He started out as one of those enigmatic ‘generic male heroes’, but he’s been revealing hidden depths to me, too. And I always imagine him as particularly yummy!

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my site, and for your kind words and support!

  3. I am officially addicted, I need more, I want more and I just sit tapping my fingers waiting for the next one (I hope I don’t end up with stubs instead of fingers). Diane Henders is one of four authors I follow and I seriously look forward to each book. Thank you from bonnie Scotland xx

    • Wow, thank you so much, Yvonne — I’m so flattered to be one of your ‘four’. And what fun to hear from bonnie Scotland!

Your poor fingers might end up a bit shorter by the time Book 18 arrives. I’m doing my best, but between backaches and encroaching forest fires, my progress has been slower than I’d like. (You may need tap your fingers a little more gently for a while if you want to save them.) 😉 Thanks for dropping by to encourage me — I appreciate your support!

  4. Hi Diane, my wife and I truly loved reading the whole series, everything you could want in a novel, mystery suspense, comedy and sex,the characters are great (except could you leave Dermot out of the next book) or just end his life in V.R. haha, can’t wait for the next edition.

    • Hi Bruce! I’m chuckling at your comment about Dermott. I’ve had a few requests from readers to devise a suitably *ahem* creative death for him in V.R. Ah, the possibilities… 😉

I’m so glad you and your wife both loved Aydan and the gang — thank you for taking the time to drop by and tell me!

    • Aw, thank you so much! I’m so glad you’re loving the series. It’s always hard to decide when (or whether) to wind down a series — several times I’ve thought, “Okay, this will be the last book.” And then by the time I got to the end of that book, there was more story to tell! 🙂

    • Hi Cindy! How lovely to hear from you in Trinidad and Tobago! As the snowflakes float down here, it’s fun to imagine being in the warmth and sunshine where you are.

And I’m so glad you’re enjoying the adventures of Aydan and the gang. Being someone’s escape is a huge compliment — thank you! I really appreciate you dropping by to tell me, and I hope you enjoy the rest of the series. 🙂

  11. Hi Diane. I also got your first book for free on Bookbub, read through the night and bought the series in the early hours of the next morning. I’m on book 14, and am now trying to pace myself… but unfortunately I’m not big on delayed gratification🤦🏻‍♀️.
I enjoy all the characters, but my favorite parts are where John Kane is involved, even when all he is doing is being an anchor- guess I’m a sucker for tall, dark & handsome! Although strangely I also really enjoy Stemp!
Anyway, from a sunny and warm South Africa thank you for your Spy series, I’m having a blast reading it

    • Hi Nellé! How cool that Aydan and the gang have made it all the way to South Africa! I’m thrilled to hear how you’re gobbling up the series. You’re a binge-reader after my own heart — I’m not big on delayed gratification, either. 😉

I love writing all the characters, but I have to admit a certain weakness for tall, dark & handsome, too. And Stemp has been great fun to write — peeling back the layers of such an intensely private person is fascinating. I keep wondering what other secrets he’s hiding from everyone… including me.

I really appreciate you taking the time to drop by and brighten my day with your comments — thank you! 🙂

  12. It all started with a temptation in Kobo’s free books …. And has just wound up with the closing pages of book 16. What a ride! I have never found myself laughing out loud as often as I did whilst reading this series – and it’s been many years since I found myself turning off the lights at 2am, no longer able to keep my eyes open. Truely bingeworthy, Ms Henders! For someone who is barely literate in geek speak (and of an age where the whys and wherefores of computers are a thing of mystery) I was dragged in and tossed around in your data streams and quite happily went back for more. I look forward to reading more of the middle aged bookkeeper… I was absolutely nothing like Aydan when I was bookkeeping at the same age!

    • Wow, it’s so great to hear that you binged on the series! And I’m especially glad you got lots of laughs — I often find myself grinning while I write, hoping my readers will grin, too. I’m especially happy to hear that the ‘techie’ parts of the books were reader-friendly. 🙂 Your note made my day — thank you so much for taking the time to come by and comment!

  13. Hi Diane, I’m on book 8 of your Never Say Spy series and I have to say I am addicted! As a middle aged woman, Aydan is relatable and that is a rare perspective. I am from Canada (Hensall, ON) but my son lives in Kananaskis working at Nakiska winters and we have spent time in that area. Recognizing references to the places around Calgary makes me feel part of the story! If you ski at Nakiska look for Dylan. He also writes in his spare time and would love to be able to talk to someone that writes for a living. Thank you for entertaining me! So far my favourite character – other than Ayden – is Webb. He is such a lovable character.

    Like

    • Hi Phyllis! I’m so glad you’re enjoying Aydan and the gang, and that you love Webb. He’s so much fun to write! And it’s nice to “meet” a fellow Canadian, especially one with a connection to the Calgary area. I never did get to ski downhill at Nakiska — we usually went to Sunshine or Lake Louise. Now that we’ve moved to the West Coast, I may not ever ski Nakiska, but who knows? Stranger things have happened.

It’s very cool that Dylan is a writer! If he’s looking for information and/or inspiration, one of the best resources I’ve found is Janice Hardy’s blog at http://blog.janicehardy.com/. She has a huge “Fiction University” that gives awesome advice on developing, writing, editing, and selling novels. I wish him great success in his writing career.

      Thanks for dropping by!
