Too Much Gravity, Not Enough Time

Today’s our final day of moving and the house is nearly empty.  As you can tell by the late post today, things have been just a tiny bit hectic, and the past week has been spent frantically putting out one metaphorical fire after another.  (No actual fires, thank goodness!)

So since there’s been far too much gravity in my world lately, here are a few giggles that lightened me up this week:

And last but not least, here’s what gave me the biggest smile this week.  In the throes of moving, there are no Christmas decorations at our house this year… but that didn’t stop Hubby from setting up a “Christmas tree” for us:

This is just one of the many reasons I love him!  So as long as we have each other, we’ll have a good Christmas despite the chaos and stress of moving and the absence of the usual trappings.

So to you and your loved ones:  Merry Christmas, if you celebrate it; and if not, warm greetings from our family to yours.  May you find warmth and love and laughter, now and in the New Year.

(And maybe my next post will be written from beside the ocean!  Fingers crossed…)

Late as usual, but hoping the move is going well and that there is a little less gravity when you get to the sea. It really has gotten stronger theses last few years. Maybe it’s part of climate change, I just don’t know.

    • That must be it! We’re still suffering from a heavy dose of it at the moment, but now that we’re here and (almost) moved in, we’re hoping it will lighten up a bit. Hope yours does, too. 🙂

  3. Trust you had a Merry Christmas in spite of all the Chaos

  4. Hope your move is going swimmingly, Diane. Like you, my time has been precious of late, but your reason is more justified, I feel. I’ve pre-prepared a standard comment as I’m whizzing through Blogland this evening, although I haven’t used it on its actual own yet! Have a rest over the next few days… go on! 😀 (And now the pre-prepared bit)
My visiting, replying, commenting and the like have fallen a little by the wayside of late, for which I apologise, but wanted to call by today and wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

    • Thank you, Tom! There’s no need to apologize – I completely understand, believe me. (Especially since I’m responding 4 days late – Murphy’s Law took over my internet connection, and just about everything else.) 😉 I hope you had a Merry Christmas!

  5. And the merriest of Christmases to you as well. And to all the regulars and visitors. And to all, a good night…

  6. Thank you for taking the time to post. I’m seriously amazed at your level of commitment and organization to get this done during MOVING, fer cryin’ out loud!! Thanks again, nicely done, and congratulations on hitting this latest milestone. All the very best, y’all.

    • Thank you, and the same to you! We’re safe and sound in a hotel room tonight, and glad to be here. We had a long 8.5-hour day of driving in winter conditions, but the roads weren’t too bad. We’ll check the weather and decide whether to go the rest of the way tomorrow or not. At this point, we’re out of the house and we can finally take a breath and slow down. Ahhhh. Merry Christmas!

Lordy, woman, what are you DOING posting when you’re in the middle of moving in the middle of Christmas in the middle of winter??? However, I have to say I laughed audibly at every one of those photos; good choices! Best of luck navigating your way to the coast. May the weather gods be with you, may your vehicles run perfectly, and may everything left in the house fit in your two vehicles! Enjoy your unique Christmas – and thank you for all your enjoyable posts this year 🙂

  8. Wow a post in the midst of moving? You are amazing! Best wishes for the move and the holidays. See you on the other side! 🙂

I have been out of pocket and I was wondering if you could email me a list of you newest books. Actually I have missed a lot of them, I think. I would like to have a list so I can just go pick them up and not have to search for them. Thank you so very much.

Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

  10. That’s a true HO, HO, HO! Thanks for the Christmas laughs. XOXOXO

  11. Well you have more decorations up than I do. Merry Christmas to you and everyone else.
I’m enjoying a quiet week at work and binge watching the big bang theory. I’ve attended two virtual Christmas parties with work, was fun sitting wrapped up in my dressing gown while listening to Xmas songs and doing quizzes.

Hope the move goes well and you at least have some fun

    Karen xx

    • Thanks, Karen! It’s been another day of sheer craziness (and our internet provider cancelled our service this morning instead of at midnight), but the house is clean and empty – woohoo! Now we just have to fit what’s left into our two vehicles and we’ll be ready to hit the road tomorrow morning. You know you’ve been too busy lately when driving 8 hours through snowbound mountains sounds like a nice relaxing change!

Glad you’re getting in on the virtual Christmas parties – that sounds like a good alternative to getting all dressed up and going out!

      Merry Christmas!
