…and that’s pretty much how my day went. It takes me ten times as long to draw a cartoon as it does to just write the damn blog post, but for some reason I decided to cartoon instead. I blame the little guy with the pitchfork.
Please tell me I’m not the only one cursed with this form of “productivity”…
Such great cartoons! You are so talented. As far as distractions….I concur. Is that the sun I see shining?

Thanks! And… yes, I believe it is! Must be time for a walk… 😉

Love to see more cartoons here. You have delivered with simple line drawing and that ability is a special gift. My stuff ain’t no great art but just good enough to make the scene and joke work.

I love your cartoons, Carl! You always manage to deliver a zinger in a single frame. And you keep thinking up new ones, too – that’s the best gift of all!

I love your cartoons. I would tell you that you should publish a book of them, but then you would stop drawing them because you’d have to find another way to procrastinate 🙂

Ah, you’ve nailed the problem right there. I think that’s why I enjoy writing novels so much – they’re just a way to procrastinate on doing my “real” work….

I have lots of distrations in my life, keeping me from doing all the things I’m supposed to be doing, but I have to say cartooning isn’t one of them. Luckly, you are, and you are a most marvelous distraction! As are your cartoons! Thanks for posting this!

And just LOOK at the progress bar for Book 8! Blitzed past the 25% mark! WOOHOO!! And if nobody has told you today that you totally rock, please allow me to be the first! 🙂

And now you see what a distraction that is. See? I totally get it. 🙂

I didn’t just laugh out loud, I WHEEZED! Gad, this was perfect. I have the lolcats bookmarked at Cheezburger. One click and I’m smothering in cute. A stack of papers to grade and, well, just five minutes of giggles. I need giggles. Just five minutes. Suddenly it’s an hour and a half later.
I TOTALLY GET every frame you’ve drawn. Thank you. Belly laughs and guffaws are much better than mere giggles!

I’m glad you got a wheeze! I’m pretty sure LOLcats are a subversive attack on the global economy. If we harnessed all the hours of productivity lost to LOLcats, there would be no stopping us… but life wouldn’t be nearly so much fun, either!

I hear you. Nice cartoons, btw 🙂

No, it’s just you I’m afraid, Diane. When I blog, or comment on blogs I commit one hundred per cent to the task in hand and never give in to any distra

Oh good Diane did a post. Wow, look at that covey of quails. I swear there are more of them all the time. Now where the hell was I?

…Ooh, shiny! But hey, a covey of quail is a completely legitimate distraction – very cool! 🙂 We had a flock of grouse in the yard last winter (right in the city), but I haven’t seen any this year. Then again, they’re pretty much too dumb to live, so it wouldn’t take much to wipe them out. I think quail are a little smarter…

They are fun to watch. We have a large covey that travels around our condo and the one next door. They will all rush under one small shrub to stay warm in the winter and travel as a group to firage. However in tge soring, it’s off two by two until the young ones are born and grown.

I love the way they huddle together in the snow – a big puddle of quail all tucked in low, with only one head poking up as a lookout.

Distraction. I know it all too well. I blame my computer. Too bad I need to use it to do my actual work.

I think your little guy with the pitchfork is a member of a large, multinational union. I just wish I could list “sunshine” as a reason for my current lack of productivity. *looks out window at ice coating everything*
But I’m glad your little devil got you in a cartooning mood! Thanks for my laugh of the day. 🙂

I’m glad you got a laugh! Yeah, unfortunately ‘sunny’ doesn’t necessarily mean ‘warm’. It was -30C here this morning…

I’d say you’re lucky that writing blog posts isn’t distracting you from finishing critical tasks, LOLing at cat stuff, writing stories, eating food, making food, going for walks, drawing stick people, and looking at shiny things. 🙂

Love your cartooning, please keep them coming! Can totally relate – multiple projects on the go always, inside & in the garden, garage, etc.; where are the clones or maybe 48 hr. days? ⏰🌞
